Pinch Post Offensive Breakdown

NBA coaching legend Tex Winter created and developed the Triangle Offense in Chicago with Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen before taking it to LA with Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O'Neal.

One of the focal points of the triangle offense is the "pinch post" (area around the elbow). There are a variety of different actions that we go over in this breakdown, but the reason I love teaching these concepts is because it is impossible for a defensive player to guard two consecutive actions.

Think about it.

If you are guarding a basic screen the screener set. That action forces a defender to guard two consecutive actions. If they help on the first screen, they take the cut away but could potentially leave their man open. If they stay with their man, the first action is likely to be open.

No matter the offense that you run, I guarantee that these concepts will help you improve your offense. From better spacing to understanding when and where to cut and screen, this Pinch Post course is one that will change the way you think about teaching offense!
